Dental Bridges

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges replace one or more missing teeth to restore proper chewing, speaking, appearance, and tooth alignment. Replacing missing teeth is important to prevent shifting, gum disease, facial changes, and speech problems.

Why a Bridge Is Needed

A bridge restores oral function and appearance, supports facial structure, reduces stress on gums and remaining teeth, lowers the risk of gum disease, and helps maintain clear speech.

The Procedure

Placing a fixed bridge usually requires two or three visits. The teeth next to the gap are shaped, impressions are taken, and the custom bridge is made in a lab. The bridge is then cemented in place, with crowns supporting the artificial tooth.

Materials

Bridges may be made from porcelain, metal alloys, or a combination of materials, often with porcelain bonded to metal for strength and a natural look.

Care and Maintenance

Daily brushing and flossing are essential to keep the bridge and supporting teeth healthy, as the bridge relies on these teeth for long-term success.
